Schools + Families = Partnerships 4 Student Success

Power of Parents

Discipline

Parents/Families are every child's first teacher. When good behavioral values are taught in the home, those same values and characteristics will follow students throughout life. What they learn at home carries directly into the schools. Discipline in the schools is a joint effort and the responsibility of parents, students, staff, and the community.

The school environment should be safe and conducive to learning, and free from unnecessary disruption. A positive school climate is a necessary component of an effective disciplinary program. Denver Public Schools has policies which govern behavior and clearly set the expectation for all students. These policies can be found at: http://www.dpsk12.org/policies.
